Leader of "AURA MUSICALE" is cellist Balázs Máté (born 1965 in Budapest).

He studied at the B.Bartók Conservatory and the F.Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest.

1986-91 member of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra. Post-graduate Baroque cello studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (NL) with Jaap ter Linden, chamber music lessons with Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Mozarteum Salzburg.

He is the Baroque cello tutor of the "European Union Baroque Orchestra” and the "Austria Baroque Academy”.

Founding member of "Concerto armonico Budapest", "Trio Cristofori" and "The Rare Fruits Council".

Solo cellist in world famous Baroque orchestras: 1991-98 "Le Concert des Nations (J.Savall), 1994- "Wiener Akademie" (M.Haselböck), 1996- "Les Musiciens du Louvre" (M.Minkowski), 2003- "Neue Hofkapelle München" (Chr.Hammer), "The Rare Fruits Council" (M.Kraemer), "Harmonie Universelle" (F.Deuter) etc.

Solo cellist in world famous Baroque orchestras: 1991-98 "Le Concert des Nations (J.Savall), 1994- "Wiener Akademie" (M.Haselböck), 1996- "Les Musiciens du Louvre" (M.Minkowski), 2003- "Neue Hofkapelle München" (Chr.Hammer) etc.

He founded 1995 his own early music ensemble Aura musicale and 2002 (with László Paulik, Erzsébet Rácz and Éva Posvanecz) the Quartetto Luigi Tomasini.

His debut as a soloist at the "Musikverein" in Vienna was in October 2000: in the same concert he played, the cello concerto in C-major and the Sinfonia concertante in B-flat major by J.Haydn conducted by Chr.Hogwood.

He has given many successful concerts all over Europe, in Brazil, Argentina, Columbia and Japan. Balázs Máté is a famous artist of the Baroque cello, the violoncello piccolo and the Bass violin. He does important research on undeservedly forgotten composers and their works.

A native of Hungary László Paulik graduated at the F. Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. He continued his musical education in Vienna (Austria) with the legendary violinist J. Sívó and at the Academy of Early Music in Dresden (Germany) where he studied with Simon Standage.

László Paulik has performed solo and chamber music recitals in Europe, North America, the Middle-East and Asia. Currently he is the concertmaster of Aura Musicale (directed by B. Máté), the Wiener Akademie (Austria) directed by M. Haselböck and the Orfeo Chamber Orchestra (Hungary) directed by G. Vashegyi. He was the concertmaster of the Anima Eterna Orchestra (Belgium) directed by J. van Immerseel for a tour in Portugal and a tour with recordings in Japan in 1999. László Paulik was a widely acclaimed guest artist at the Israeli Rishe le Zion festival. He performed with numerous ensembles in Europe, Asia and the United States. He has performed solo and chamber music recitals together with such artists as Simon Standage, Howard Arman, Miklós Spanyi and Jos van Immerseel. He is one of the founding members of the Concerto Armonico Chamber Orchestra, and the Quartetto Luigi Tomasini.

László has recorded for BIS, Sweden; NCA, Germany (Sonatas for violin and harpsichord by C.P.E. Bach) and Hungaroton, Hungary (a.o. Violin concertos by Tartini, Sonatas by Mondonville and Abel, String quartets by Tomasini and Mozart)

Éva Posvanecz gradueted 1987 at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest as a violinist. (Here professors were Péter Lissauer – violin, György Kurtág – chamber music.) She participated at masterclasses with Marc Destrubé (Baroque violin) and Nikolaus Harnoncourt (chamber music).

During the last few years she participated in concert projects with several world famous Baroque orchestras such as “The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century” /F. Brüggen), “Le Concert des Nations” (J. Savall), Les Musiciens du Louvre” (M. Minkowski), “Concerto Armonico” (P. Szüts – M. Spányi), “Salzburger Barockensemble” (C. Coin), “Ensemble Sol-Sol-La-Sol” (H. Arman), “Wiener Akademie” (M. Haselböck), “Neue Hofkapelle München” (Chr. Hammer) etc. She was a guest tutor of the “Austria Baroque Academy” and the “European Union Baroque Orchestra”.

A successful artist of the Baroque violin and viola. She is heard on numerous CD recordings.

He took his degree in violin as a student of Dénes Kovács at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest and he moved on to become the leader of the Hungarian State Orchestra for two years. He won first prize at the Hubay and the Zathureczky violin competitions in 1986 and 1988 respectively.

Since 1986 as a member of the Keller Quartet he has performed in the most important concert-halls of Europe and America.

In 1990 the quartet von the first prize in Evian /France/ and in Reggio Emilia /Italy/ in the quartet competitions.

János won the Liszt-Prize as a member of the Keller Quartet in 1995. Some of their recordings prizes include Cannes Midem Classical Award, the Diapason D'or and the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik. In 2002 he collaborated with András Keller on an ECM recording of the 44 duos by Bartók.

He has been interested in baroque playing and performance techniques for many years and performed in sonata concerts as well as in a variety of baroque ensembles.

She took her degree in harpsichord at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest as a student of János Sebestyén, then she was a scholarship sponsored undergraduate of Dresden Academy of Early Music under the direction of John Toll, Nicholas Parle and Frederick Haas.

She regularly performs all around Europe (England, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany) with the baroque orchestra of the Dresden Academy - led by Simon Standage-, which was formed during her stay in Dresden.

Besides the Aura Musicale she gives concerts with several baroque groups in Hungary.
